We were not talking about war here, we're talking about high school football team. Friday Night Lights , we will be made to understand that a team duty is to protect the pride of the townspeople. The movie was based on the true story, taken from the best seller H. G. Bissinger, Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team and a Dream was a film director Peter Berg
Setting in Odessa, Texas, in 1988, an oil mining town and dry from the culture, this film told the real story of the Permian Panthers and the football team searching. This was a standard story of most sports stories about people who had not taken into account to take the challenge to achieve a glory
Billy Bob Thornton is a high school coach of the Odessa-Permian football. Where he was given the task of carrying the team at Odessa Permian country competition, to prove that Odessa is the center of power and grandeur.
Gaines became the main focus and bring a strong message in the middle of the film shows, for him football just a game. Unfortunately, the work to be done was not just a game, so he must treat it very seriously; His duty to protect the town and school, but his family that must be protected. In a dinner party at a restaurant, wherever He went, He got comments, criticisms, suggestions, threats unceasingly that was brought up in a way such praise.
This film members was supported by Boobie-Miles (Derek Luke), Mike Winchell (Lucas Black) and Don Billingsley (Garrett Hedlund), Charles Billingsley (Tim McGraw)
There was something pathetic about a man who still remain tied to the memories of high school and it was Charles Billingsley. He still wore his ring from Odessa championship team its 20th year and continues to push his son Don. When Don failed catch the ball at the beginning of the session, Charles actually walked onto the field want to swallow his son. He slapped him, cursed him, drunk and showing hostility to his son and at a certain moment in amenyatakanpada Don that will be the top high school football life.
Berg's film style is almost like a documentary. The Film was not really good but had a different perspective than most movies about sports. Although was made with little hyperbole, Berg tried to describe something that touching. In most movies about sports, always put the big game with big results as its point. But in this movie, the game was just a means to something that was really the focus.
